Many small and medium sized businesses don’t want to accept “off the shelf” software that doesn’t fully support their processes, and yet traditional bespoke development is beyond their budget. Fortunately, there is now a third option that can save up to 80% of the cost of traditional development.

“No code/low code” refers to a new generation of software tools that allow much faster development by handling a lot of the complex back-end automatically. A task that takes 10 days using traditional methods may be completed in 2 days. This also reduces the cost associated with requirements evolving during the project, and allows the developer to be extremely responsive.

How will it help?

Example low code Zoho app showing a page containing a map with multiple pins, an action button and a list of people
  • One stop shop for requirements analysis, development and implementation
  • Most of the benefits of bespoke development at a fraction of the price
  • Achieve your goals without breaking your budget

Zoho is best known for its CRM, but it also has 40+ more products, including Zoho Creator and Zoho Analytics. I have experience across Zoho CRM, Zoho Desk, Zoho Projects, Zoho Flow, Zoho Creator and Zoho Analytics. Much of Zoho uses “drag and drop” style configuration (“no code”), including pages like the example above with multiple elements. When that is not flexible enough, I use their coding language, Deluge, to tailor the experience to customers’ needs (“low code”).

Having worked in traditional software development for many years, I love low code for its speed and simplicity. Although there may be a few limitations, these can usually be overcome with a creative approach, and it provides a far higher return on investment in many scenarios.
